Jaime Kenny was named one of the Top Women of Law by Mass Lawyers Weekly in 2019.  Attorney Kenny has been practicing municipal labor and employment law for many years on "both sides of the table."  Her experience offers a unique perspective and a helpful advantage to her municipal clients.  For the first seven (7) years of her career, she served as in-house counsel for a labor union, the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees Council 93.

Since 2013, Attorney Kenny has represented cities and towns in all aspects of municipal labor and employment law.  Attorney Kenny focuses her practice on discipline and discharge cases for municipal employees.  Attorney Kenny has handled over five hundred (500) grievance and arbitration cases, most of which are brought under the “just cause” standard for discipline.  She is adept at formulating strategies for handling complex personnel issues including developing performance improvement plans for unionized employees.

Attorney Kenny has served as Chief negotiator in collective bargaining and works to develop contract proposals that are designed to work in conjunction with Management’s inherent managerial rights under G.L. c. 150E.  The result is a comprehensive approach to managing in a unionized environment.

Over the course of her career, Attorney Kenny has represented both employers and employees before the Department of Labor Relations, the Massachusetts Civil Service Commission, the Massachusetts Commission Against Discrimination and in Superior Court, before the Massachusetts Court of Appeals and in federal court.  She has lectured before the Massachusetts Municipal Association and offers expert training to managers and employees on critical topics such as sexual harassment, unlawful discrimination, complaint investigation, and discipline and discharge under the “just cause” analysis.
